Pillowcase and Turn of the Century Dolls
We go to estate sales and antique shops for vintage linens or purchase new fabric for our handmade dolls. All estate and antique shop linens are cleaned before construction.
Basic Construction
All dolls have a white torso body made of broadcloth and are faceless. Collars and bodices are lined. Seams are finished to prevent fraying during cleaning. Dresses with waist ribbons have belt loops to help prevent shifting. We used snap fastners (grippers) for dress closure in back.
Linen Care
One product we have used over the years is Biz. You will be amazed at the results. Many stains and yellowing are gone. (I have actually removed oil, grease, grass stains, etc. by soaking overnight). BE SURE TO CHECK FOR COLORFASTNESS BEFORE USING. FOLLOW PACKAGE DIRECTIONS.
